Randi Nydam

My name is Randi Nydam.  Maintaining an average of 3.6 G.P.A in high school, I have dedicated myself to many activities. My main activity in high school was Billings West High Majorettes; which is a drill team. I have been in Majorettes for all four years of high school..  My second activity at West was choir. I was in a lower choir my sophomore year, called Chanteurs. I than tried out for a higher choir and made it into Chamber Choir; which is an all girl choir. The two activities kept me very busy in high school but I also maintained my time working a job too.I am a very optimistic hardworking student and employee. I set very high goals for myself during my four years of high school and I have achieved the goals through hard work and strive to do my best. I also have set high goals for college to further my success. I plan on getting my generals done first and than moving onto a Bachelor’s Degree in Pathology Nursing. I get very intrigued by the subject of pathology and I would love to learn further information. I also feel I am a good candidate for the scholarship because I am in need for financial assistance. Financial Assistance is a very big weakness for me because I have worked so hard all of school years, and it is hard because my family and I stress each day of how we are going to get me to college. I plan on attending Montana State University in Bozeman for my four years in college. I picked MSU Bozeman because they have a really good program in  Nursing. I also feel that MSU would give me a good transition from high school to college and would help me achieve my goals to get a bachelor’s degree in Pathology Nursing. I plan on studying Nursing  because I know that  this career will lead me to a great steady future. With this major, there are a wide variety of different careers that a college graduate can go into. The major also has a very high rate of hiring college graduates, so I will be able to get a job right after college. I also want to go into Nursing  because I am a very social person. I love to be around people and help people with their problems, so I feel that I will enjoy this major for the rest of my life

Sydney Niven

After graduating from Billings West this year, I plan to attend the University of Montana in the fall.  Throughout my fours years spent at West, I tried to take as much Science and Mathematics as possible. I finished honors Biology, honors Chemistry, honors Physics, Biology 2, and four years of Mathematics. While receiving my education at the University of Montana, I will majoring in Biology to pursue my goal of becoming a Physical Therapist. As well as school, my other interests were cheerleading and dance.  This past year I was student body Vice-president, cheerleading captain, involved in National Honors Society, Postponing Sexual Involvement, and other various clubs and activities.

Along with school and extracurricular activities I also work part-time during the school year. Throughout the summers, I have worked two-three jobs to save money to attend the University of Montana. This scholarship will be used towards books and tuition, and will be of great help as I continue my education in the future.
