BWHS ALUMNI MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Presented in May,  2003

2003 Winners - May, 2003

This year we presented three $500 awards which were donated by reunion attendees from the summer of 2002.  Each recipient also received a Certificate of Award and a BWHSAA Shadow Frame to display some of their high school memorabilia.

 Kevin Molm

Kevin will be attending the University of Montana next fall to pursue a degree in Political Science. 

Kevin graduated with a 3.87 GPA and has been very active in numerous activities including Debate, Spanish Club, French Club, West High Football, Bear Mountain Descent Team, Intramural Club, Freedom's Answer, Church Youth Group, and the Y.M.C.A. 

Kevin's outstanding accomplishments include Fourth Place at the 2003 Montana State Debate Tournament, Vice-President of Forensics Club, Treasurer of Spanish Club, and Co-founder of Freedom's Answer.  Despite Kevin's very active school career, he still found time to work part-time and plans to do so during college as well.

We wish Kevin the very best at the University of Montana and obtaining his college education.

Kjersten Olsgaard

Kjersten will be attending the University of Montana next fall to pursue a degree in governmental and legal systems with a minor in Spanish. 

Kjersten graduated with a 3.69 GPA and is clearly a very ambitious and hard working young lady!  She has been very active in numerous activities including BWHS Orchestra, Varsity Swimming, YMCA Swim Team, BWHS Trading Card Program, Yellow Ribbon Project teen leader, Montana Rescue Mission volunteer, Special Olympics volunteer, and Big Sky State Games volunteer. 

Kjersten's noteworthy accomplishments include National Honors Society, Recipient of the United States Army Environmental Award at the 2003 Montana Science Expo and Co-captain of the BWHS Swim Team.  She also found time to work part-time during high school and plans to do the same through college.

We wish Kjersten the very best at the University of Montana and obtaining her college education.

Meghan Surwill

Meghan will be attending Montana State University - Billings next fall to pursue a degree in Nursing and Physical Therapy. She graduated with a 3.11 GPA and has been very active at West! The was involved in (as a) BWHS Sports Trainer, BWHS Trading Card Program, Drama Club, S.A.D.D., Key Club, church Youth Group, Volunteer at Western Manor and St. John's Nursing Homes, Candy Striper at St. Vincent's Hospital, and Special Olympics volunteer. 

Meghan's accomplishments include Outstanding Teen 2000 Award, President of S.A.D.D. and Basic Training in Army National Guard.  Meghan also worked part-time during high school and plans to work part-time during college as well.

We wish Meghan the very best at Montana State University - Billings and obtaining her college education.

It is our hope that this scholarship will continue each year and that donations will be received each year from each of the classes holding reunions in previous summers.
